Professional network LinkedIn has turned mobile

LinkedIn’s mission is to connect professionals in a more mobile way than before. Its main goal is to connect, inspire and to make sure its users always have their office at their fingertips.

Marcel Molenaar, Head of Marketing Solutions, LinkedIn Benelux will take the stand at Mobile Convention Amsterdam on the 22nd of May. Molenaar says the professional online platform has developed from a desktop platform to a full mobile office network.

“The last years we saw a 30 percent rise in the mobile visitors of LinkedIn. In Q1 of 2011 8% visited LinkedIn on his or her mobile. Today, more than 40% of unique visiting members come through mobile apps."

On the basis of three pillars - Identity, Insights and Everywhere - Marcel explains where LinkedIn is coming from, where it stands now, what the plans are for the future and why its mobile strategy reforms the way people behave professionallyIt’s all about mobility, Molenaar finds.

“Ten years ago, people wanted a full time job and guarantees. Today, employees and entrepreneurs are more and more asking for mobility. They want full access to all office supplies, whenever and wherever they are. This is where LinkedIn comes in as well: We as LinkedIn want to facilitate what people need in their daily lives and professions.”

Molenaar will explain in his keynote presentation how the professional platform meets the demands of its users. LinkedIn has recently added new features and possibilities of which people don’t know the existence. “We notice that a lot people still don’t know the vast professional possibilities of LinkedIn. We’ve added features that make LinkedIn the perfect mobile office.”
